Liliana has been going to her swimming lessons twice a week instead of once a week because the weather is good and I really want her to get to the point where she is comfortable swimming the length of the pool with nobody in the water with her. She struggles with coming up for a big breath and continuing to swim afterwards. She tries to hold her breath and stay under water for too long and doesn't come up for the air she needs without a reminder from her teacher or I. She's right on the verge of getting it and I'm hoping that twice a week lessons will make her an independent swimmer by the end of the summer.
With the sun shining, we have been spending a lot of time at the pool. We pack a picnic lunch and stay and swim and play after lessons at least once a week. Friends join us and everyone has a lot of fun.
