Bay Area Trip

Here she is waiting for the plane. She is getting so good at traveling that I told Adam this is the first time since she was an infant that I wished I had a magazine on the flight. She really entertained herself. Every 15-20 minutes she would ask for a new activity or snack, and she watched to see when the fasten seat belt light was out because she knew that's when we could take a walk in the aisle to the bathroom. Other than that, she played quietly in her seat. She was VERY excited to see her Grandma and Grandpa and told everyone that she saw during our travels that she was going to visit them.

The first day that we got there my mom, Lila and I went shopping and to lunch. We did a little shoe shopping and I learned that I have been stuffing her feet into shoes that were almost a size too small! Poor baby! Here she is at my parent's house in her new Uggs looking out the window for wild turkeys.

Making oatmeal/cherry cookies with grandma and grandpa. I NEVER bake. I am not good at it and I really don't want those goodies in my house because I will eat them! But, Liliana was so into it and had so much fun that I think I will need to start to do it more often.

On Saturday morning "Unka-B" treated us to a day at The Academy of Sciences in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. We met Taryn, Ashlyn, Cassie, Rhys, Sarah, Marcella, and Shannon there. The kids and the adults had a great time exploring the beautiful museum and having lunch in the Moss Room.
Here is Liliana heading into the museum.

Here are some pictures from inside the Academy. Liliana and Rhys had a lot of fun playing together.

After the museum Liliana and I headed over to the Cooley's for a quick visit with the cute twins--Caden and Colton.
Then my mom picked up Liliana and took her home. I went over to Cella and Peter's and visited with everyone there and got to meet Nicole and Matt's new baby Austin who is SO SWEET. I wish I took pics.
That night we had a lot of fun without the babies at 25 Lusk.

On Sunday we relaxed at my parent's house. It was a rainy Sunday so it was the perfect weather to do so. Brian and Lindsay came over with their dog Bella and Liliana had a ball playing in the rain with her and Lindsay. She hasn't stopped talking about it since!
It was another great trip to the Bay!

Disneyland video

I haven't been able to post a video in soooo long. My friend Jolene taught me a way to do it using vimeo. Here is the latest video I took of the girls at Disneyland. I am excited I know how to post videos again! More to come!

Disneyland with Layla (Bye-Bye ba-ba)

We went to Disneyland with Layla and Katie and had the best time. The girls dressed as their favorite princesses and looked precious. Layla was Ariel and Liliana was Cinderella. Our first stop in the park was to Princess Fantasy Faire to visit their idols and for Liliana to take care of some serious business...giving away her bottles....

Liliana has been having a bedtime bottle since she was 11 months old. She loves her night time bottle and Adam loves cuddling her and giving it to her every night. But, she is getting a little old for it and I started thinking that the longer we let her have it, the harder it would be to talk her into getting rid of it. So, I borrowed an idea that my mom and aunts used with all of us--bottle charity! They told us that other babies needed our bottles, so we willingly gave them away. I gave mine to the garbage man and his babies. I knew that Liliana would do anything for Cinderella, so I told her that Cinderella's babies didn't have bottles and asked her if she would like to give hers away. She loved the idea from the start and we talked about it for a few weeks leading up to the big day. The only time she showed any sign of hesitation was on the drive to Disneyland. I asked her if she was excited to see Cinderella and she said, "NO! Lila's SAD!" When I asked her why she said, "no 'Rella take Lila's ba-bas." I told her that if she decided that she didn't want to give them away when we got there that she didn't have to. I wanted this to seem like it was her idea. After waiting an hour to see the princesses, Liliana was so excited that she handed her bottles right over and told Cinderella that they were for her babies. Cinderella graciously accepted the bag of old bottles and thanked Liliana. She is doing great with the transition to her hemp milk in a sippy cup. It hasn't bothered her a bit. She talks about the fact that she gave them to Cinderella's babies because she is a big girl and doesn't need them anymore.

Here is a picture of Adam giving her the last bottle the night before Disneyland. It reminded me of when I knew that my time nursing Liliana was coming to an end. So sad!

The rest of our day at Disneyland was just as fun. We went on Small World and Jungle Cruise and Winnie the Pooh. We watched the Main Street Parade from the front row and the girls danced in the street with the performers and had a ball. Once the sun went down we got to see the castle lit up for Halloween and see all of the decorations on Main Street. The girls (and the moms) shared a treat in the Main Street ice cream parlor, did some shopping and called it a night. The girls were exhausted because we didn't leave the park until 9, but they didn't fuss at all the whole day. They had SO much fun.

Fall Friday

Liliana and I had a wonderful Friday morning together. The weather was chilly and drizzly and it felt like fall. We went to Stroller Strides and ran with our friends through the leaves and then decided to head over to our local farm for some fruits and veggies. What started out as a quick errand turned into a couple hours of fun. We played on the tractor, talked to the scarecrows and the roosters, frolicked in an empty pumpkin patch, and giggled a lot. I love fall. And, as much as I love my "job" and the fact that I am able to make money while playing with sweet Ben and still not miss a moment of Liliana's life, AND as much as I enjoy how packed our social schedules are with family and friends, I really love those rare moments where we have nothing to do and nowhere to be, so we can just explore the world.

(The only bummer about this day was that I didn't have a real camera. Not that my Olympus is that fancy, but it's better than an iphone!)

Where did Lila go?...
...there she is!
