Tanaka Farms

We went strawberry picking at Tanaka Farms again this year. Liliana's buddies Jack, Layla, and Gianna came with us. The kids had a lot of fun on the tractor tour trying all of the different vegetables that they grow on the farm. Liliana was a great strawberry picker. Because we have strawberries growing in our backyard, she knew to only pick the dark red ones. She wasn't the best at collecting them to bring home though--most of them went right in her mouth. She just plopped herself in the dirt and went to town eating them.

The girls were so excited to see each other. They held hands everywhere they went and made the cutest small talk. "Layla, do you like to hold hands? Are you my friend? Do you like to eat strawberries? I do!" Perhaps the funniest little conversation we overheard was Layla asking Liliana, "so, how was work?" Without any hesitation Liliana answered, "work was good."

Easter 2011

Liliana was excited about Easter this year. For weeks leading up to Easter she would ask me, "when is that big bunny going to come to my house and leave me treats?" Many mornings I would hear her yelling on the monitor, "Mommmmmaaa....I am so 'AH-SITED'! Where are my Easter treats????"
Her first Easter event was visiting the mall Easter bunny. She literally ran up to him and jumped in his lap and said, "Hi Easter Bunny! Cute Tie!" with a big cheesy grin. We went close to closing time and there was NOBODY in line for about 30 minutes, so she had a lot of time to hang out with him. She sang multiple renditions of "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" and danced for the EB, she gave him a list of things that she wanted in her Easter basket with "pwincess rings" topping the list, and she asked him all sorts of questions like, "do you like carrots?", "what's your favorite color?", "do you know how to hop?", etc. She kissed his cheeks, his knee, his hand, and gave him tons of hugs. When we were getting ready to go she turned around and pointed her little finger at him and said, "oh yeah...I know you poop jelly beans!" because they show him doing that in the movie "Hop". Getting her to finally leave after her visit was difficult. She cried and yelled at us that she wanted to stay with the EB at the mall and told us that we could leave her there and go home.
The next part of our Easter celebration was to decorate Easter eggs. Liliana had fun and got messy with this project. Her little hands were, "Cinderella blue" for at least a day.

The Saturday before Easter we went to Pines Park for their annual Easter egg hunt complete with face painting, an Easter Bunny and petting zoo. We saw a lot of friends there and Liliana had a blast. She loved seeing her buddy the EB again and was in heaven with all of the treats she gathered. Afterwards we went and had lunch with the Ahmer family at the wharf. It was a beautiful day.

On Sunday, Liliana was excited to see her 2 Easter baskets filled with presents. She did another egg hunt outside before we got ready and headed over to the Gale's house for Easter brunch.
The kids got spoiled with 2 more Easter baskets there and another Easter egg hunt. It was fun to watch the kids go crazy with their new toys and tons of treats. At one point Liliana looked at me and said, "mom, I need some water. All this candy is di-gusting!" I guess she reached her limit.

This is how we roll...

It is rare that I walk by someone (that we don't already know) on our way to school or the park and have them not say SOMETHING about my triple stroller. Most people assume they are all mine and comment on how busy I must be and how I "didn't waste any time!" I usually smile because it takes too long to tell the story about how old they are and how they are not all mine (I would seriously have to stop every block--people even yell out to me from their cars). But, sometimes if it's unavoidable, I explain that while I definitely am busy, it is only from Tuesday to Thursday. If they were all mine and Ben and Aubrey were twins (in reality they are only a week apart), I would have gotten pregnant with them when Liliana was just 3 months old (she is almost exactly a year older than them). PHEW! Thank goodness that is not true and I just borrow these little cuties a couple days a week!

SF + Napa = Everyone is happy

Adam and I figured out that we have not been to Napa since were married almost 5 years ago and we have not been away ALONE since our precious baby girl was born. We aren't complaining--in fact, we really hadn't realized until after this trip to Napa was booked. We have a lot of fun traveling with Liliana, a lot of fun traveling with our family, a lot of fun traveling with our friends...and all of the above. But, it was time. Adam and I needed a weekend away and we didn't hear any complaints from Liliana who got to stay at her Grandma and Grandpa's.

Adam and I had a wonderful vacation that consisted of dinner and a night out partying with friends in the city; a relaxing night at my parent's house spent with family; delicious dinners and amazing wine tastings in Napa; naps all 4 days of our trip; shopping; beautiful drives through the valley and bay with the top down on a picturesque weekend; and some downtime spent reconnecting with my best friend. We both agreed that the weekend was PERFECT.

We forgot a camera so all pix are from cell phone. :(

Liliana's weekend was spent at the petting zoo; going to the movie theatre to see Hop; having dinner parties every night at the grandparents and Uncle/B's; riding BART for the first time with Grandma to go shopping in the city and lunch with the ladies, playing 'princess' and 'castle' with grandpa; and basically being spoiled rotten. She was happy to see up when we came back to take her to the airport, but not that happy. And, she cried when we left and said that she wanted us to leave her there. I guess we should get away more often.
