Bay Area Trip

Liliana and I flew back to the Bay Area for 5 days and Adam joined us for the weekend. As usual, we had a fantastic time.

The main reason we flew up was so that I could see my first kindergarten class from Millsmont graduate from elementary school. I can't believe how grown up they are already! Liliana and my mom came with me to visit the kids during the day. Liliana was not the slightest bit overwhelmed by the classes of twenty kids. She just marched right in, sat in their chairs and touched everything she could get her hands on. That evening I went to the graduation and then went out to eat with Jenny and Tara, my former colleagues and friends. It was great to catch up with them.

Jolene came with little Miss Ava, Lindsay brought her sweet boys Ben and Charlie, and Erika brought her little buddy that she nannies for, William. The kids played at the park and fed the animals at Little Farm and then we had a picnic lunch.

My mom had some ribbon with Disney "printsies" on it. My mom put some in Lila's hair and she was so pleased with the look that she said, "mama, buckle too," so my mom made her a belt. She rocked the look:

That evening we headed over to the city to have dinner in the Marina and take some pictures of Liliana at Crissy Field. Katie got me the photo shoot as a birthday gift and I LOVED it! Liliana was a total ham and literally did NOT stop talking the entire hour. I think Nicole got some good shots. I still haven't seen all of them, but she sent me these as teasers:

On Friday Adam flew in and we went out to a delicious dinner at Flour and Water that my parents gave me as a birthday gift. It had been a while since just the two of us went out to dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. Afterwards we met friends for drinks. It was a great "grown up" night.
On Saturday my parents hosted a BBQ for a lot of our friends. It was a beautiful day filled with swimming, playing with the kids, laughing, and eating my parent's delicious food. We also got to spend time with the sweet Cooley boys who we hadn't seen in a very long time.

Palm Springs Girl's Trip

We used the fact that Katie and I celebrated our 30th birthdays within days of each other as a great excuse to take a girl's trip to Palm Springs. Katie, Taryn, Peggy and I stayed at the Viceroy and had WAY too much fun laying by the pool during the day and going out for drinks and apps at night. It has been a looong time since the four of us got away together. We had a lot of laughs and after all of the fun, I definitely felt 30 the next day! I was sad that Marcella wasn't part of the trip on Saturday, but lucky enough that she was in Palm Springs for another party and was able to swim and relax with Peggy and I on Sunday. GREAT GIRLS WEEKEND!

Happy 30th Birthday to Me!

I celebrated my 30th birthday June 3rd and I feel pretty great about it! People often say their 30's are their best decade and I can see that will probably be true for me too. Adam and I are so lucky in love together and having Liliana is the sweetest icing on the cake. And, I am lucky to have amazing family and friends. Everyone came together to make me feel very special on my birthday.
Liliana got me an afternoon massage and Peggy stayed home to watch Liliana while I relaxed. Then, I got to take a LONG relaxing bath tub before a fun surprise dinner that Adam planned for me (with the help of Peggy and Taryn). It was so nice to ring in my 30's with everyone.

Disneyland Princesses and The Morrison Crew

Margo's family did their summer trip at Disneyland this year. Liliana and I went to meet them one day and had a lot of fun. The park was really crowded that day because it is officially summer so we only did a couple of rides. It was a lot of fun to see everyone though. Reagan is getting so big and Cooper was very sweet to Liliana and gave her a lot of loving hugs. Margo bought all of the kids Mickey ears with their names on them. We couldn't get them to sit still long enough to get a group picture, but we got a couple of them separately.

After we separated from the group Liliana and I spent some time in the Princess Fantasy Faire area meeting her idols--the "printsies". She got to meet Ariel, Jasmine, and Belle. She was star struck. She ran up to them and hugged them, admired their dresses and jewelry, and even showed Ariel her song and dance that she does in honor of her (I am still trying to get this on video to post on the blog). The princesses thought Liliana was a riot. We also watched an interactive story told by her favorite, 'Rella. She was literally screaming in the audience. Then, we watched a musical play starring Cinderella, Snow White and Aurora. Liliana was dancing her little heart out right in the front row and yelling "Hi Printsy Rella" and asking them to pick her up. The princesses on the stage were trying hard not to crack up. They waved and mouthed to me that they loved her and thought she was so cute. I couldn't argue. Liliana was on fire.
