We are still struggling with trying to figure out why he has a chronic cough and often has infected ears. He is also still a horrible sleeper at night and ends up nursing and sleeping in my bed throughout the night, which is probably because he isn't feeling good. My pediatrician thinks he has silent reflux and that is causing him to be congested. I decided to see a naturopath to get a second opinion and do some allergy testing. The test results indicated that neither Maverick or I are allergic to anything and she seems to think that his silent reflux is also causing him to cough and creating mucus that is backing his ears up. Poor little guy. In the middle of the night when we are laying in bed I can hear his choking down the acid in his stomach. It is usually right after that when he cries and wants me to nurse him. The doctors are not too worried because he is gaining weight (that is for sure!) and is a really happy baby. But, I would like to figure it out so that we can get some sleep and he can get some relief.
