Party with "The Cousins"
The Reynolds hosted a get-together and it was so fun to see all the little ones together. Cannon and Liliana are almost the exact same size. It is hard to imagine that soon they will be running around together like Gianna and Hudson. And, they will have Rowen (who is due in about a month) to join them.
Cannon and Liliana are already having fun together! Doesn't it look like they are linking arms and Liliana is telling Cannon secrets?

They are so cute!

Valentine's Day
It was a wonderful love day for the Morrison family. It started with a walk on the beach, then I had a 90 minute massage and took a long nap. Adam and I had a delicious dinner at Blanca in Solana Beach where I had my first martini in TEN MONTHS (with blue cheese stuffed olives--so good) and lots of yummy wine to follow. While I was relaxing and celebrating, Liliana was being loved by my mom and dad. They gave her her first bottle which she sucked down like a champ. I was a little sad (she needs me a little less already), but mostly glad that she took to it so easily. After all, bottles for her=bottles for me. I will probably try to give her at least one bottle a week so that she doesn't decide not to take it again, but I doubt I will do it more often than that because I really enjoy our time together nursing.
Little Piglet
Liliana started with her new pediatrician, Dr. Sears. At her 5 week appointment she weighed in at 10 lbs, 9 oz (75th percentile) and is 23 inches long (90th percentile). Dr. Sears laughed when he looked at how much she has grown since birth and told me that is a lot of weight gain. He said that her healthy appetite may be part of the reason she is struggling with reflux, but that he wouldn't try to discourage her from eating as much as she wants to.

Happi Tummi?
Liliana still struggles with her reflux. She grunts and looks so uncomfortable when trying to keep it down. To try to help her with this issue, I have experimented with my diet, elevating her when she sleeps, different breast feeding positions and techniques, a homeopathic remedy called Colic Calm, and taking her to a chiropractor. Nothing has worked. My cousin Nicole told me about this herbal tummy wrap that you warm in the microwave before wrapping around the baby. She still spits up sometimes when I use it, and I definitely wouldn't say it cured her, but it does relax her and seems to help her sleep more peacefully. Thanks for the tip Cuz!
Our Dr. Biter Wins Another Award
My OB won 'best doctor' in Ranch and Coast magazine! They had a photo shoot in his office with 20 adorable babies that he delivered. I'm not sure which photo the magazine will choose, but the colored photo below was one of the photographer's favorites. Liliana is on the far right on the couch. You can't see her face because she was turning away from the camera. They also took some shots with Liliana as one of three babies in Dr. Biter's arms, but she starting fussing and clawing at the babies next to her so I had to remove her from the session. The black and white photo is funny because it shows some of the chaos that was involved in getting 20 babies to cooperate.

Big girl!
Liliana is a month old day. WOW! She is getting so big and strong. She lifts her head off of my shoulder to look around when I am holding her and is starting to like tummy time more and more. She was able to lift her head and move it from one side to the other during tummy time from day 3, but she now does it repeatedly from side to side without much effort. She kicks her little legs and flexes her muscles so much that she actually scooted herself from one side of her towel to the other today. And she uses this strength to try to keep me from strapping her in her car seat or changing her when she isn't ready by flexing her arms and legs. Little stinker.
Yuma
Our little family took a road trip to Yuma this past weekend to visit all of our friends and relatives on Adam's side of the family.
Lila did pretty well on the car ride. She only cried once on the way to Yuma because she had a huge blow-out that went through her diaper, outfit and car seat. After that first incident I changed her and fed her, and before we could get on the road again she pooped through another diaper and another outfit! Once we finally got there we had a wonderful time. Liliana had a lot of fun seeing everyone there..especially her cousin Cooper!
