Maverick had a cold that turned into RSV and a double ear infection. It was so sad to watch him struggle through strong coughs that racked his little body. He was miserable and we were all sleep deprived and worried. He was on saline breathing treatments and antibiotics for his ears. Adam and I took sleeping shifts at night because he needed to be walked and/or sleeping in an upright position so that his cough would subside. It was a miserable week made worse by the fact that I was sick with a sinus infection. It took him a little over a week to be 100% better, but it felt like forever.
sicky boy.
We lived for his occasional smiles.

Liliana Rose's 4th Birthday celebration weekend
Liliana at 4 Years Old
-When she grows up she wants to be an architect, (she loves to design and build "condo-millions" with her Dad and Grandpa and she is having a lot of fun "working" on the plans for our new house that we are building) hairdresser, contortionist (she is obsessed with Cirque de Soliel's acrobats), or fashion designer (she loves to work with my mom designing and sewing clothes).
-Her favorite cartoons are My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake. She also likes to watch singing shows like X Factor and American Idol. She wants to be on one when she is older and practices her singing voice.
-She is busy during the week with preschool at Old Firehouse 2 full days and 1 half day. She LOVES her teacher and her school and asks me to send her more. She also takes a 1/2 day Spanish class once a week which she doesn't like because (in her words), "the circle time is too long and we can't just do what we want to do." Hmmm...sounds like it's probably good for her! Her Spanish is definitely improving to the point where she can understand basic conversational Spanish and knows quite a few words, simple phrases and songs. She seems to be picking it up pretty easily.
-Her favorite games to play are make believe "Family" where she and her friends role play being the mom and the baby and "Cirque de la Morrison" in which she and her Daddy perform acrobatic tricks.
-Her personality is the same...she is a little firecracker who can also be the sweetest love bug in the world. She is determined, stubborn, clever and hilarious.
On her actual birthday we celebrated at Yankee Pier because she requested...OYSTERS! We went out with the whole family and I think she had a great time. Unfortunately I was pretty distracted with Maverick's RSV. It was on her actual birthday that he really took a turn for the worse. In fact, I called his pediatrician who met us at the restaurant because I was so torn between taking care of him and also making sure Liliana had a special celebration. She came to meet us and said that I needed to start breathing treatments when I got home, but that I shouldn't feel guilty about being out of the house with him...she said that the cool air was actually good for him. She even brought a birthday gift for Liliana. I feel very lucky to have found a pediatrician like her.
After dinner we went back to my parent's where my mom and dad had taken the time to make her birthday really special. They decorated the dining room in pink and purple Hello Kitty and we had a cake and all of her gifts waiting. Despite the fact that her brother was sick and I was sick with exhaustion and worry...she had a special night.
We held her birthday party at a local tea house with 10 of her girlfriends. The room that we requested was rather small so we had parents drop their little ones off. The girls had tea, sandwiches and sweets (okay...mostly sweets) and we hired a Cinderella to stop by and do some entertaining. Cinderella was a HUGE letdown (she looked NOTHING like her), but the little girls did not seem to mind. They were happy as can be to get their nails painted, have balloon animals made, and sing songs with this lady wearing a blue dress.
