Yo Gabba Gabba LIVE

The day after we got home from Costa Rica we went to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live--the 2010 "There's a Party in My City" tour. Call me crazy for having Liliana skip her nap and for taking her to San Diego to see a live show the day after arriving home past midnight from another country...you wouldn't be the first to call me crazy...but it was SOO worth it! She loved it and danced her buns off in the audience.
We got off to a rough start. She was throwing a fit and BEGGING me to put her to bed.
Me: Lila, stop crying. Don't you want to go see Foofa and all of her friends at Yo Gabba?!?
Lila: No Momma! Mine go to bed wite now! Mine want a nap peeeessse!
Me: You would rather nap that go see an awesome concert with your cousin, and a lot of your friends.
Lila: YES!! My is TIRED!
Boy, was I feeling guilty at that point. And the "I told you so" looks from Adam weren't helping a bit. But, as soon as Laurena walked in with Gianna her mood changed and we were headed to SD.
She was definitely a little delirious and out of it during the 'party in her city', but she loved it and I loved watching her enjoy it. She danced and sang and yelled, "FOOFA!! Lila's UP HERE!! COME 'ERE!!" My favorite part of the show was watching her and her Aunty Go-Go dance together. Liliana thinks Go-Go is really cool and the fact that she was enthusiastically dancing and singing to the songs made her even cooler.
(Thanks Go-Go and Grammy T, we had a great time!)
I am glad I decided to drag Liliana with me. She will never remember how tired she was that morning. She will, however, remember the fun that she had. She got a shirt and a little toy there and she wears the shirt at least once a week. She often pretends that she is Foofa. Daddy or Ben are Plex, and I am usually Tootie. She makes me sing a handful of songs from the show, but Foofa's song, "Don't Be Afraid" is off limits for me--that is her solo. :)

Rocking the DJ Lance glasses while waiting to get in:
She has her gear and she's ready to PARTY!:

For those of you who have not seen Liliana sing or dance, she can be VERY dramatic and expressive (we have no idea who she gets this from). One of her signature moves is the eye roll/head bop exhibited below:
Yahoo!!!:
She is thinking, "Foofa's headpiece is so FABULOUS!":

Costa Rica 2010

We look forward to this trip every year. Due to the combination of the 'pura vida' vibe in Costa Rica, my parent's condo with all of the amenities, and the fact that we know the drill on where to eat/shop and how to travel there, it is instant relaxation from the moment we step off the plane. The water is the perfect temperature for Liliana (and us) and we have an amazing time beach hopping.
Liliana was an all start traveller as usual. She reminds me of myself--getting there is part of the fun adventure for her. She loves talking about the upcoming trip, helping me pack our suitcases and getting to pack her own "pack-ack". She LOVES the airport and has everyone cracking up with her travel savvy commentary. While we were checking in she asked the gentleman behind us, "where you going man? Pawis? The City? Cota Wica? Lila go to Cota Wica. Lila no go to Pawis." At the airport restaurant she talked to the people at the table behind us about where she was going and who was going to be there and how she was going to eat pretzels on the plane. While walking through the terminal before our flight she kept asking anxiously, "Mine turn now?" She already has the travel bug.
We stayed the night in Dallas to break up the flight on the way there for her. Despite her lack of sleep from the night of traveling, she was in a great mood the next day when she woke up to see Grandma and Grandpa and finish our trek to Costa Rica.
On our drive from the Liberia airport to our condo we stopped to see horses and saw monkeys in the trees. What a perfect start to the week! She had a great time and would ask me every day when we were in a new, beautiful location, "Dis Cota Wica Mom?" and when I would tell her it was she would do her happy dance and say, "COTA WICA, COTA WICA, COTA WICA!" at the top of her lungs. I think she likes it as much as we do. Can't wait for next year.

This child will seriously play dress up with anything she can get her hands on:

Lola's

Lolita the Piggy at Lola's:

Playa Conchal:

Playa Flamingo Hotel Pool (every Morrison loves a swim up bar)

The jacuzzi on the porch at the condo, where Liliana could see a tree full of monkeys and parrots-- so close that she could almost reach out and touch them while swimming in the buff:

Lola's Round 2. We played in the tide pools a lot this day. We saw a lot of crabs, fish, and an empty beach with hundreds of living sand dollars:

Family Dinners:

There was a huge rainstorm Thanksgiving day which made it a perfect day to stay indoors and prepare Thanksgiving dinner (or in my case, read on the couch and drool over the yummy smells coming from the kitchen). It was DELICIOUS. And, Liliana loved her Thanksgiving dinner. SHOCKER!

Playa Penque. She had so much fun make believing and making sand castles and "fish stew" with Grandpa (aka Prince Charming):

Playa Langosta Beach Club--a great new addition to Tamarindo:
