Peggy's Shower

I have always loved baby showers. It is so fun to watch the Mom open a bunch of cute, tiny things that they will use for their baby. Watching one of my best friends, Peggy, open all of her baby gifts was so much fun and such a trip! We have been friends since freshman year in college and talked over the years about the time when we would someday become moms. As luck would have it, our due dates are within a few days of each other and it has been wonderful to share this experience with her. Her shower was a hit and she got a lot of great stuff.

Belly and Baby: 23 weeks

We had a doctor's appointment last week and Dr. Biter said that everything looks great. We got our test results back and all of them indicate a healthy baby. In fact, the test results are able to predict a 99.3% chance that the baby will be perfectly healthy. Adam and I were surprised and pleased by those odds!
During our ultrasound Dr. Biter showed us great pictures of our baby's face, umbilical cord, feet and brain. At one point he told us to look away from the screen so that we didn't see the baby's sex. I did as I was told but Adam kept his eyes glued to the screen. Thank goodness he is not very good at making out the images without the doctor's help! Dr. Biter said that the baby is measuring a little over a week ahead already. I think we are going to have a big one!
We also had dinner with our doula, Dawn Thompson, last week. We enjoyed talking to her about the upcoming birth. She is encouraging and informative and she had so many wonderful things to say about Dr. Biter. We are confident that we made great choices in our "Birth Team."
