Forever Friends

Liliana and Layla created a very special bond during the time that I nannied for Layla and it hasn't been affected by the past 6 months apart. They still talk about each other and ask for each other quite often. When they get together they have a blast. It is so cute and so special to watch these two interact. (The parents have a pretty good time together too which makes the experience even better.) :)
A couple of weeks ago we took the girls to a Hulabaloo concert at the Encinitas botanical gardens and picnicked in the grass while they got their groove on and ran around holding hands. It was a perfect night...except for the fact that they didn't play Liliana's favorite song, "Mama Llama". Liliana danced happily to every song that they played, but as soon as the music stopped she would yell, "Mama Llama". Each time I assured her that it would be played soon. When they finished their set without singing her tune she looked at me with her jaw dropped in disbelief, shrugged her arms and looked at me like I was crazy and mouthed "MAMA LLAMA?!?!?" Thanks goodness she was quickly distracted by her friend Layla!

HUGS AND KISSES...

This past weekend The Tollacks were vacationing nearby us so we got to have dinner with them at Javier's and spend time at the Ritz pool and bar with them. The girls had so much fun dancing near our dinner table, swimming and hitting the jacuzzi with their dads, and eating lollipops while the grown ups relaxed and took in the amazing ocean view.
I wish the girls got to see each other every day but we cherish the time that they are together and look forward to the next.

The end of Summer

Although we had an unusually chilly summer this year, we have still found time to hit the pool and beach. I love hot days spent in/near the water, but I am looking forward to fall.
Here are some pics of fun in the sun.

Ballerina

We started ballet class at the San Clemente community college with Stella and Sarah. It was one of the only places that we found in the area that offers classes to kids under 2. The actual title of the class is, "Princess Ballet", so needless to say it was right up Liliana's alley.
The fun began last weekend when we went shopping for her ballet outfits and shoes. This got her very excited and she made up a song that consists of repeating the word, "ballet" in different tones while dancing around. So cute.
She is the one of the youngest girls in the class, so she doesn't understand how to follow all of the directions, but she does her best, and what she lacks in skill she makes up for in confidence. She danced around the room and loved every minute of her first class. I had so much fun watching her. We can't wait for more!
