Brave Movie Playdate

We met Layla and Kira at the "fancy theatre" to see Brave on opening weekend. All 3 of the girls came dressed in costume with their Merida dollies in hand. It's pretty wild that they all wanted/had the gear before even seeing the movie. Liliana has been talking about this movie for at least 6 months since seeing the posters around town and merchandise in stores. Of course it was Adam who bought her the big doll on one of their Disney dates and she loves it. (Somehow I managed to never buy anything in all of my trips to Disneyland with her, but she suckered Dad into a treat and/or toy each time they went.)
The girls loved being able to order food from their lounge chairs in the theatre. Liliana is such a crack up with the way that she orders confidently. In restaurants she is always the first to get the server's attention and tell them what she wants to eat or drink. Her new favorite thing to ask for, "Umm...excuse me, do you have any lemonade with super sweet berries?" This trip to Cinepolis was no exception. Right as we sat down, before the movie started, she got the attention of a waiter to ask him if they had smaller sized 3-D glasses that would fit her and her friends better. When he said no she replied, "bummer...well, we are ready to order." He started to explain that he wasn't her server and she said, "Wait a minute please. I need to ask my friend what she wants," and leaned over to Layla and yelled, "Layla, what will you be having? I will order for us. Do you want the pizza?" And she turned back around to rattle their order off to the stunned teenager who was trying to tell the bossy 3 year old that he was done for the day.
Once they got their food the girls settled in and loved the movie. Afterwards we let them run around the theatre and play their version of "Brave". Liliana has since been able to join in with her boy friends who play pretend gun games with their fingers (why do little boys always do this regardless of how much you try to keep toy guns out of their hands??) because she has her pretend "air and arrow" that she shoots, just like Merida.
