The Gales generously let us stay in their cabin which was well stocked and plenty big to house 3 families and our amazing babysitter, Paige, and her boyfriend, Conner.
We arrived Friday morning and got settled and took the kids for a long walk to run around in the snow. After our walk we had lunch, put the kids down for a nap, and headed to the game room for some competitive fun. When the kids woke up from their naps we went to the sled park and rode go-carts and inner-tubed down big hills. After sledding, we fed the kids, put them to bed, and headed out for a much needed adult night. We had a nice dinner and hit up a couple of local bars. We managed to make it out on the dance floor and shut the place down.
Despite the fact that we were out way too late and none of the kids slept well, we woke up, had a big breakfast and hair of the dog, and hit the slopes in the morning. The lines to rent and buy tickets were outrageous. By the time we got Liliana situated, she only had time to do a couple of runs before Conner came to pick up the girls for lunch and nap. But, she loved every minute of it. It was the first time Adam had gone up the chair lift with her. He got a kick out of her enthusiasm and excitement. I think that every other word out of her mouth was "more".
After Conner picked the kids up we had the afternoon to ski/ride on our own and get some food and drinks at the top of the mountain. It was a lot of fun. That night we went hot tubbing and had a big family pasta dinner at home. Great trip. I think it will have to be a tradition. We even had some fresh snowflakes fall from the sky before we left. They were so light that I don't think the kids noticed or appreciated them, but I got excited. :)
