So Cal in January

It's no secret that I miss the Bay Area. But there are days--lots in fact--where I am so grateful to be living here where the sun is almost always shining and the beach is in my backyard. When we moved away from the Bay Area we decided that if we were going to leave the "city life", we wanted to be living the "beach life". We haven't deviated much from our plan. We live pretty close to the beach and we love that we see the ocean every day, but sometimes it seems a little too far away. While the beach is less than a mile from us, the hill that separates us from the ocean makes it feel a lot further. Adam's Christmas gifts (a new bike and trailer and a golf cart) brought it that much closer.

A short Saturday morning bike ride took us to North Beach in San Clemente for a picnic and play time in the sand:

A quick weekday evening bike ride to Dana Point Harbor for a drink and some clam chowder:

Golf carts make sunsets over the ocean even easier to get to:

We had to drive our actual CAR to Capo Beach to have a bonfire so that we could fit the wood in the back, but it was nice to only have to shoot down the hill. Stella and Liliana had a blast. It was Lila's first 'smore. Needless to say, she loved it.

The girls sat on their potties for so long giggling and watching the waves:
