Costa Rica 2011

My parents treated Liliana and I to a 10 day vacation in Costa Rica. It was perfect.

Liliana amazed us all again with what a spectacular traveller she is. She gets SO excited for trips. She loves to pack, loves the airport, gets excited to board the plane, and literally sits, plays, and sleeps like an angel while flying. She travels better than most adults. I don't know why we are surprised anymore.

We flew into San Jose, C.R. and stayed at a great hotel the first night. We met up with some of my parent's friends there, had dinner and drinks and went to bed. In the morning Liliana had fun swimming in the pool before we got on the road to Tamarindo. While Lila had fun at the hotel, she kept asking, "can we go to Costa Wica?" because to her, Costa Rica is my parent's condo in Tamarindo. Needless to say she was very excited when we finally arrived.

While in Tamarindo we took day trips to nearby beaches, relaxed, saw monkeys in the trees, ate great food and had a lot of fun watching Liliana enjoy herself. It was very relaxing for me. I read 3 books (a favorite pastime of mine that somehow got pushed aside when I became a Mom) and I even managed to sneak away for a full spa day at a beautiful outdoor spa overlooking the jungle.

Liliana swam her little buns off all day, every day in the pool and ocean. Well, almost every day...One of our first days at the beach the tide was very high and a big wave came all the way up to our table at the restaurant Lola's. It knocked Liliana off of her feet and pull her down a small distance with the tide. We grabbed her within seconds, but the whole restaurant was on its feet and it scared everyone, including Liliana. She was a little timid in the waves for the next couple of days.

She is already asking to back. Just the other day we asked her what she wanted to do and she said, "Costa Wica!"

On the way home we had a overnight layover in Miami where we got to spend some time with the Walters. This was the icing on the cake. Liliana and Paxton had a great time swimming and playing together. I can't wait until we see them again in July.
